Welcome to The Gaming Diary

Thank you for clicking on “The Gaming Diary”. My name is Fernando Flamenco I’m a Junior at Texas State University majoring in Journalism with a minor in Media Studies. I have made this blog for my MC4381 class, but also because I have always had a fondness for video games and writing, and this is the perfect way for me to combine my passions.

I was born in San Francisco, California and I moved to El Salvador, a small country in Central America, when I was 6 years old. I chose journalism as my major because I have always had a passion for writing, whether its in an informative sense, where I can talk about the news that interest me, or as outlet where I can express the thoughts inside my head.

To give you a little background on my gaming history I started playing games from a young age, with my first console being the Nintendo 64. I would spend countless afternoons playing Mario Kart 64 and Mario Party with my uncle and this led to my passion for the art form that is gaming. Some of my favorite games of all time are Mass Effect 2, Persona 5 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Video Games have always been one of my favorite artistic mediums because they can feature a variety of different elements that can blend into masterful outcome. Whether its a game that has a beautiful art style and fun gameplay like “Cuphead”, or a game that has a heartbreaking plot with interesting game design like “Telltales The Walking Dead”.

“The Gaming Diary” is the name that I have chosen because ill be discussing my life as a gamer, whether its the current news regarding video games, a review on what I’m currently playing, an opinion piece on a videogame topic or reminiscing on a game from the past. This blog will serve as my outlet to give my opinion and express my thoughts on the ongoing videogame world. I will also be keeping my posts updated on my twitter.
